Backup Your WhatsApp Data to Dropbox With FolderSync Lite-
This is a free app and you can use this app to effortlessly sync your local data to the cloud. Additionally, the app also features a file manager to enable you to manage your files locally and in the cloud.
Step 1: Foremost step is you need to install the FolderSync Lite app from the Google Play Store.
Step 2: Launch FolderSync Lite app and tap on the three-line icon at the top-left corner and select Accounts.
Step 3: In the next step, tap on the “+” button at the bottom-right corner and choose Dropbox.
Step 4: Before login into the Dropbox you will be asked to give your account a unique name. This is not your Dropbox username. Once you are done, tap on “Authentication Account” and sign in with your Dropbox account. Tap Save once you finished.
Step 5: Tap the three-line icon again and re-choose Accounts. You should see your linked Dropbox listed here.
Step 6: Again, Tap on the three-line icon on the top-left corner and choose Folderpairs.
Step 7: Tap on the “+” button again on the bottom-right corner and you will see one more time a prompted menu to type a unique name. Don’t forget to switch to the account you’ve just created.
Step 8: Tap on the Remote folder option and choose the Dropbox folder you want to save your WhatsApp data. You can also create a new folder if you wish it. Once done creating the folder, tap on the “+” button.
Step 9: Tap the Local folder option and scroll down until you see the WhatsApp folder. Tap on the WhatsApp folder and then click on the “+” button. This also means that you will backup the entire WhatsApp data.
Step 10: One thing you should never miss is to set the Sync type to the remote folder. This is the key. If you miss this part your data will not be transferred to Dropbox. To do that, tap on the Sync type and select To remote folder.
Step 11: Once you are done with all the steps, you can start choosing the options of how your WhatsApp data will be synced. Just scroll down to see all the options. As you can see you can set the sync schedule, network and other options. At last, tap SAVE once you are done.
Step 12: Next, tap on the Sync option. You should start seeing your WhatsApp files in the Dropbox folder you chose.
