Microsoft has just released Office Lens, photos, whiteboard, and document scanning app for both the iPhone and Android. The app can scan a document and convert the image to text. The text can then be exported and opened in the MS Office app if they are installed on your device. Even, the text can be sent to the Mail app (on your iPhone) and it can be saved as a PDF. Now, here is how you can convert image to text on Android and iPhone using the Office Lens app.
How to Convert Image to Text on Android and iPhone
Step 2: Now, the first thing you will need to do is take a photo of the document that you want to scan for conversion. The app provides a built-in camera interface to take the photo.
(Note: For easy conversion, let the app know what you are trying to convert, whether it’s a document, whiteboard, a simple photo or a business card. As shown in the above screenshot, the “Document” option is chosen).
Step 3: After taking the photo, you can also edit the image and crop the area that has to be scanned and converted. Once you are done, click on the checkmark button on the screen. (NOTE: If you don’t want to edit then you can ignore this step).
Step 4: Now, on the next screen the options for saving and renaming are available. (NOTE: The app requires you to be logged in to your Microsoft account, so it will prompt the device to log in before you proceed. The Microsoft login is required because the file will be saved in your OneDrive account).
Step 5: Finally, the app will convert the image to text, and the file will be saved as a doc file to your OneDrive account. (NOTE: You can further edit the file on your device using Microsoft Word).
That’s it! This is how you are going to Convert Image to Text using OCR. Have you had any issue converting the image, comment down below and I’ll get back as soon as possible.
