It was last night when I checked and read all my mails, but this morning there was badge on mail icon depicting the unread mail count. As usual I thought there is an unread email sitting in my mailbox, unusually there was none. Though this thing didn’t harmed me in any way but the whole morning I was confused if there’s any new email every time I see the mail app. While searching the fix for this annoying problem, many forums suggested there’s some bug showing Phantom Unread Emails On iPhone and luckily the fix is quite easy too. How To Fix Phantom Unread Emails On iPhone :
Step 1 : Head over to Settings.
Step 2 : Scroll down to Mail, Contacts, Calendar.
Step 3 : Look out for the mail account which is showing incorrect unread count on iPhone, select it and turn the Mail off. In case you can’t figure out which mail is showing incorrect unread count, turn Mail off for every Email account.
Step 4 : It’s time to turn off your iPhone. Just press and hold power the button for 5 seconds and slide to power off your iDevice.
Step 5 : Now just sit back and sip in your Green tea. As soon as you are done, come back and turn on your iPhone.
Step 6 : Again head over to Mail, Contacts, Calendar and turn on the respective Mail accounts you have turned off.
Voila! You are done and most probably there’ll no incorrect unread email count badge on the Mail app.
