In the previous Windows versions, there appears to be only one desktop. One had to operate all the opened programs or tasks in one single desktop’s taskbar.  Linux and MacOS already have featured Virtual Desktops. However, with the introduction of Windows 10, you may have also found that you are able to add and use multiple desktops (i.e. virtual desktops) whenever needed with the help of Task View program. It is a virtual desktop manager and can be launched by clicking on its button, located just next to the Search bar on the taskbar. Here, you can create new Desktops, open multiple apps, work in any of them whenever you want, and once you are done, you can close the opened desktops. Following are the steps on how to use virtual desktops in Windows 10-

Working on multiple desktops have become a lot easier. There is no need to install any software as it comes pre-loaded with Windows 10. Following is the way to add multiple desktops in Windows 10-

Step 1: Foremost step is to move the cursor to the Taskbar and click on Task View option.

So, this is the way to add and switch between multiple Desktops in Windows 10 Unfortunately, it still lacks a lot of features which are developed in other Operating systems.  You cannot change the wallpaper of the desktop, personalize desktops, etc.  There is no quick method to jump from one desktop to another. You have to click on Task View button or simply press Ctrl+Windows tab to change. One of the major drawbacks is once your PC gets restarted, you will have to set the desktops again as per your need. Also, there are still no third party apps for Windows to add multiple desktops. However, according to my best knowledge till now, this is still the best way to add a Virtual desktop in Windows 10.
